Nite Ize Gear Ties

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

When I first signed up to review Nite Ize Gear ties I intended to give them to my hubby. He is always using tie wraps sometimes wasting them because we have to cut them.  But they are a necessity and he really cannot stand loose wires. So I gave him the pack and told him to test them. He came in one day and said I really like them the appear sturdy and I love that they are reusable rubber. Then he handed them to me  and said is there any loose wires around here.

Then it dawned on me I had a use for them I hate my hair dryer and flat iron drawer because the wires are EVERYWHERE mean how can these 3 things in a drawer look so messy? So I said well let me try one on my extension cord, then that one turned into let me put one on my flat iron too, and then let me put one on my hair dryer too. And presto my drawer looked so neat I was so excited. I like how easy they are to tie you can tie them as tight or as loose as you need. You can just loop them and they will hold or you can twist them and have a stronger hold. I LOVE that they are reusable and I don't have to feel guilty because I'm wasting if I want to take them off.

I said okay you can have the rest.  Then he started playing with them by twisting and hanging the larger ones and I was amazed when he said look you can hang things on them. Believe it or not they are strong enough to hang a spray bottle on and hold it.  Before I knew it I had a use for almost the entire pack of ties.

Another use I discovered, I'm very excited about is I was organized my elastics. Instead of throwing them in a drawer they are all neatly "hung" on one of the biggest ties. Looking at this picture you are you are probably thinking to yourself who would possibly need that many elastics. I know I thought that when I was putting them on the gear tie. My answer to that is I have no clue. I don't know why or even how I have so many but I feel great that they are now organized and are not thrown everywhere.  I easily made them stay in place by twisting up.  I really wanted to I even have room for more, if for some unknown reason I would buy more.

There lots of different sizes and packs of Gear Ties you can purchase.  I will more than likely be buying more gear ties because I stole these from my hubby and I know he would have tons of use for them. The material is waterproof of very sturdy, I think it would be very hard to ruin these.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  4. Nice post - you certainly found different ways on how to use the ties...I would have never thought to use them on hair equipment cords or to keep hair ties in place...I hate when those rubber hair ties go haywire in a drawer.
